PSHOF Golf Classic Nears

PHILADELPHIA May 23 2011 – The Hall of Fame Golf Classic, hosted by the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame, is Monday June 20, 2011. The fifth annual benefit takes place at Huntingdon Valley Country Club in Huntingdon Valley PA.

This year’s event features Flyers legend Bernie Parent as Honorary Chairman. In addition to Parent, the Hall of Fame Golf Classic will see many past Hall of Fame Inductees and Philadelphia-area sports personalities hit the links with Hall supporters and corporate sponsors, in an effort to raise funds for the Hall’s General and Museum fund.

In addition to 18 holes of championship golf, attendees will have an opportunity to participate in the “Million Dollar Challenge”, a Hole-In-One contest for a new car, a putting contest and other fun events. Attendees will also enjoy an early lunch before golf and a cocktail reception and dinner after golf. A silent auction and live auction, hosted by former sports anchor Don Tollefson, takes place during the post-golf reception.

“If you enjoy golf, and would like an opportunity to play 18 holes with one of your favorite sports legends and personalities, then this is a ‘can’t miss’ event for you,” said Bob Cassidy, Secretary of the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. “It’s also a great way for businesses to showcase themselves to clients in a relaxed atmosphere.”

Others expected to participate include Harold Carmichael, Vince Papale, Merrill Reese, Billy Cunningham, John Chaney, Jack Ramsay, Marc Zumoff, Theresa Shank Grentz, Marty Bystrom, Terry Harmon, Doug Peterson, Harry Donahue and others. Dan Baker (Long time Phillies and Eagles public address announcer) is back as Master of Ceremonies and Hall of Fame golfer and past-President of the PGA Jack Connelly is the event’s host professional.

The Hall of Fame Golf Classic offers sponsorships opportunities at various levels that appeal to individual golfers as well as corporate personnel.
