Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame Announces Strategic Leadership Council

The Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame is proud to announce that it has taken a major step in its ongoing outreach and development with the inaugural meeting of the Strategic Leadership Council, held Wednesday, June 15 in Philadelphia.

As part of an 8-month planning effort, the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fames Strategic Leadership Council (SLC) is chartered with providing leadership and direction to the Hall of Fame. Created to provide external input and perspective from prominent members of the local sports and business community, the SLC is comprised of a diverse group from the Philadelphia-area and complements the Hall of Fame's all-volunteer, internal staff.

Members of the initial SLC included Jim Murray, Stan Hochman, Diane McGraw, Al Shrier, Bill Campbell, Fran Dunphy, Dan Baker and Ray Didinger. The Hall will continue to solicit input from numerous other sources including athletes, sports executives, members of the media, and local business people.

"The membership of this Strategic Leadership Council represents a substantial breadth and depth of experience, knowledge and perspective,” said Hall of Fame Managing Director Bob Cassidy. As an all-volunteer organization, the Hall of Fame will rely on this group for input on major initiatives such as fundraising efforts, community programs and the eventual location of a comprehensive museum facility." Bob continued, We are very excited and grateful to have the advice of such a knowledgeable group of Philadelphians.”

The intention of the Strategic Leadership Council is to include representation from area sports teams, colleges/universities, government, media and other related organizations. The input received from the evolving membership of the SLC will directly guide the Hall in achieving its ultimate goal of creating a permanent home for all fans to enjoy.
