HALL OF FAME GOLF CLASSIC features BERNIE PARENT as Honorary Chairman
Flyers Legend Chairs Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame Benefit
PHILADELPHIA April 12, 2011 – Bernie Parent is this year’s Honorary Chairman at the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame Golf Classic on Monday June 20, 2011. The fifth annual benefit takes place at Huntingdon Valley Country Club in Huntingdon Valley PA.
In addition to Parent, the Hall of Fame Golf Classic features many past Hall Inductees and Philadelphia-area sport personalities paired up with public supporters and corporate sponsors for a fun day on the golf course, followed by a cocktail reception and dinner. The event offers many contests, including a Hole-In-One contest for a new car, the “Million Dollar Challenge” and both a silent and live auction during the post-golf reception.
“As a Charter Inductee Bernie Parent is a long-time supporter of the Hall of Fame,” said Ken Avallon, president of the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. “Bernie has played in the Classic every year, and he is a lot of fun for everyone. We are excited to have him as our Honorary Chairman.”
Others expected to be on hand throughout the day include former Eagles Harold Carmichael, Tommy McDonald, Frank LeMaster and Vince Papale, basketball legends Billy Cunningham, John Chaney, Theresa Grentz and Jack Ramsay, former Phillies Marty Bystrom, Dickie Noles and Terry Harmon, Comcast-SportsNet’s Michael Barkann, Eagles broadcaster Merrill Reese, 76ers broadcaster Marc Zumoff, and KYW sports anchor Harry Donahue, former NFL kicker Garo Yepremian and current Eagles QB coach Doug Peterson. Also participating are Master of Ceremonies Dan Baker (Long time Phillies and Eagles public address announcer) and Live Auctioneer Don Tollefson (Long time sports newscaster in Philadelphia.) Hall of Fame golfer and past-President of the PGA Jack Connelly is the host professional for the day.
The Hall of Fame Golf Classic offers sponsorships opportunities at various levels that appeal to individual golfers as well as corporate personnel. The Presenting Sponsorship has been crafted to allow a potential sponsor a true year-long partnership with the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame that includes the Hall’s upcoming Class VIII Induction Ceremony in November as well as other events.
