HALL OF FAME GOLF CLASSIC features BERNIE PARENT as Honorary Chairman
Flyers Legend Chairs Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame Benefit
PHILADELPHIA April 11 2011 – Bernie Parent is the Honorary Chairman at the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame Golf Classic scheduled for Monday June 20, 2011. The fifth annual benefit takes place at Huntingdon Valley Country Club in Huntingdon Valley PA.
In addition to Parent, the Hall of Fame Golf Classic features many past Hall Inductees and Philadelphia-area sport personalities partnering up with public supporters and corporate sponsors for a fun day on the golf course, followed by a cocktail reception and dinner. The event includes many contests, including a Hole-In-One contest for a new car, the “Million Dollar Challenge” and both a silent and live auction during the post-golf reception.
“As a Charter Inductee Bernie Parent is a long-time supporter of the Hall of Fame,” said Ken Avallon, president of the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. “Bernie has played in the Classic every year, and is a lot of fun for everyone. We are excited to have him as this year's Honorary Chairman.”
Others expected to be on hand throughout the day include former Eagles Harold Carmichael, Tommy McDonald, Frank LeMaster and Vince Papale, basketball legends Billy Cunningham, John Chaney, Theresa Grentz and Jack Ramsay, former Phillies Marty Bystrom, Terry Harmon and Dickie Noles, Eagles broadcaster Merrill Reese and 76ers broadcaster Marc Zumoff, Eagles QB coach Doug Peterson, KYW sports anchor Harry Donahue, former NFL kicker Garo Yepremian. Also participating are Master of Ceremonies Dan Baker (Long time Phillies and Eagles public address announcer) and Don Tollefson who will serve as Live Auctioneer. Hall of Fame golfer and past-President of the PGA Jack Connelly is the host professional.
